The Comeback of Mini Trampolines

You may think mini trampolines as a form of exercise are a thing of the past, but they are back and better than ever! Let's face it, jumping on a trampoline is fun! With new and improved trampoline designs and fun workout videos to follow, you can't go wrong.

So, Why Choose A Rebounder Workout?

Rebounding is a safe, effective and fun low impact workout performed on a small trampoline. Research into rebounding has proven many health benefits including; burning 1000s of calories, melting body fat, stimulating lymphatic drainage, activating deep core muscles and strengthening bones and joints. Sometimes switching up your workout routine can help to keep you motivated. Many rebounder workouts include challenging combinations and motivating music to keep you engaged and having fun.

A NASA study found that 10 minutes of jumping on a trampoline is the equivalent of a 30 minute run and trampoline jumping is 68% more efficient than running or jogging. In fact, it proved to be the best exercise to rebuild the lost bone tissue of astronauts whose weightless state caused them to lose 15% of their bone mass.

Design Improvements

In addition to exciting new workout videos, rebounders got a makeover from a design stand point too. Most rebounders now will be made with bungee cords, as opposed to springs. This allows for a better bounce, better durability and easier replacement if needed. A trusted brand that produces a line of rebounders is JumpSport.

Inside Scoop:

We interviewed rebounder fitness instructor and owner of PWRHOUSE Fitness Courtney Zelter to gather some more information on rebounder workouts

How Did You Get Into Rebounder Fitness?

I have been a dancer my entire life, so I naturally began to foster an acute sense of body awareness early on. Supplementing a professional dance career with fitness was a very organic progression for me, as it was something I was super comfortable with as well as very easy to fit into a dancers schedule. Along the way I earned my different fitness certificates as well as a Bachelors of Fine Art in Dance Performance. Rebounder fitness was first introduced to me by a friend during University when we went to a boutique studio in Orange County, and I instantly fell in love. I almost always hate cardio as I find it very hard on my knees and ankles after a lifetime of dancing, but with the incredibly low impact the rebounder offered I was hooked. Not to mention it is very fun!

What Types Of Workouts Does PWRHOUSE Offer?

Through PWRHOUSE I offer three core rebounder workouts. The first being a 30-minute Cardio Push class, designed to get that heart rate up while teaching you a little combination. Then there is a focused interval class, so rebounder cardio supplemented with strength intervals of either upper body, core, or lower body. Finally, I offer full body rebounder intervals, similar to the focused workouts except rebounder cardio is broken up by full body intervals. These three class types are released weekly on our site plus other none rebounder workouts.
